What are Free Digital Points? 

Free Digital Points are defined as social spaces where users are guaranteed access to Information and Communication Technologies through computer equipment and the Internet, leveraging the participation, organization, and leadership of the grassroots within the context of integrated and structured social development.

OUR MISSION

Consolidate the Information Society across all social and productive strata in rural and marginalized urban areas of Ecuador, seeking economic and productive development through knowledge, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

OUR VISION

Ensure the democratization of Information and Communication Technologies and promote Universal Access to ICTs, with the aim of reducing the digital divide by bringing them closer to citizens and fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and development.

OUR PURPOSE

  • Promote knowledge and use of ICTs to reduce the digital divide.
  • Promote innovation and entrepreneurship.
  • Promote the use of online government services.
  • Support the prevention of social problems.
  • Motivate the creation of technological projects and solutions.

We have signed specific cooperation agreements between the Ministry of Telecommunications and the Information Society (MINTEL) and the Kairós Foundation, corresponding to the implementation, operation and maintenance of the Free Digital Points in:
